The new Terme Sensoriali spa resort at Chianciano Terme in Tuscany (Italy) combines innovative technology and treatments advocating naturopathy principles.

Chianciano Terme

Situated not far from the city of Siena, Chianciano Terme is one of the most important spa resorts in Europe, whose beneficial thermal water springs were already known to both the Etruscans and the Romans. Chianciano offers a range of accommodation to suit any taste and pocket, ranging from luxury hotels to farm holidays and self catering villas. It is also in one of Tuscany's best areas for outstanding wine and food.

The innovative Terme Sensoriali complex, designed by architect Paolo Bodega, is set in the Acqua Santa Park in Chianciano Terme in Tuscany (central Italy).

Sensory Spa Philosophy

The Terme Sensoriali Spa mixes innovative technology with treatments based on naturopathy to help rebalance the energetic fields by means of a harmonious use of the five basic elements (water, fire, earth, air, ether) which make up the universe, including human beings.

Available Treatments

The range of treatments on offer comprises:

  • Aromatherapy
  • Turkish baths
  • Chamber of inner silence
  • Chakra color therapy and music therapy
  • Ice crash showers
  • Emotional showers
  • Cave of the spring
  • Melmarium
  • Walk in the river
  • Energetic pyramid

The staff will provide more detailed explanations of the various treatments and recommend four different programs, known as "paths of the senses": relaxing, energizing, purifying and balancing.

Spa Packages

  • Purifying program – Clear your body and mind of all the toxins derived from unhealthy eating habits, lifestyle and a prolonged use of medicines, intestinal dysbiosis etc. This path drains and purifies the skin and the entire body.
  • Rebalancing program – Rebalance the energy in your body, soul and mind.
  • Energizing program – Suited to combat lack of energy or confidence, insomnia and other sleep disorders, weak physical and psychological conditions, panic attacks, uneasiness or anxiety.
  • Relaxing program – Improves physical and psychological well-being and alleviates muscular-skeletal tension including headache, stress and uneasiness.

Opening Times and Prices

The Terme Sensoriali are open 7 days a week from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. throughout the year. Advance booking is not required. Admission its € 36.00 and allows guests free, self-managed use of the full range of treatments for a period of three-and-a-half hours. Additional time may be bought, but this is discouraged since over-treatment should be avoided for maximum benefit. The cost includes a kit with bathrobe, towel, slippers, bath cap and shower gel. Suitable drinks are provided at appropriate times.

Additional Services

Wellness and beauty treatments offered at the Centro Benessere (Wellness salon) on the upper floor are not included in the price of the ticket and will be charged separately. Advanced booking is advised.

Don'ts

  • Some of the treatments are not suitable for pregnant women or in the presence of certain illnesses and health conditions.
  • No kind of food is permitted in the Terme Sensoriali.
  • Children under 12 years of age are not allowed.
